What Foreign Policy?

I am having a hard enough time trying to figure out the domestic policies and the path Barack Obama is taking our great nation down. But when I try to analyze the motivation or lack of a direction of his foreign policy agenda it is simply mind boggling.

He has managed to alienate some of our greatest allies. He returned a bust of Winston Churchill given to the U.S. by the Queen of England after the 9/11 attacks. He renegged on a written agreement to Poland and the Czecks to implement a missle defense system aimed at deterring any threats from Russia in exchange for thier troop support in Iraq. We no longer have a great repoir with Israel and have left them to protect themselves against most of the middle eastern countries who want to destroy that nation. France,Spain,Pakistan and Germany could be counted as allies as little as 2 years ago

Now comes information out of Afhganistan that American troops have had several fire fights with Iranian troops who have crossed the border to impede our progress there. Iran incidentally has been in bed with Russia for some time now and is fueling nuclear plants that have multiple purposes.

What is our foreign policy? If we are not going to fight to win in Afghanistan let's get the heck out of there. Why are we continuing to risk the lives of brave young men and women while we know full well what is going on in Iran and turning the other way?

The United States used to be looked up to by most friendly nations with great admiration and esteem. I am not so sure about that anymore. I think the administration is leaving all Americans very vulnerable at home with the massive deficits. The lack of a strong foreign policy and dialogue with our allies are a must for our nation to be strong and return to our rightful place a world leader.

Transparency and Earmarks

President Obama delivered his first State of The Union speech last night without much fanfare. It seems the "Obama Magic" is gone as most of his address was a real yawner. Except of course for Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi who appear to be competing for the "Most Ridiculous Cosmetic Change Award".

Apparently the Scott Brown victory in Massachusetts has had an impact in Washington.........just not with Obama. He echoed much of his campaign speech from 2 years ago last night by promising "Transparency" among the democrats and the end to "Closed Door Negotiations". This is all fine and good but none of this has transpired in his first year in office. The limbo laden Health Care Bill was written by a few and without any input from Republicans. The process was supposed to have aired on CSPAN but never occurred. Producers of that network even contacted the White House for an explanation but were denied access.

Obama last night also threw his now infamous "End of Earmarks On My Watch" line of bull%#*& to an unbelieving audience. Every bill he has signed has been loaded with earmarks including the Health Care Bill which has not made it to his desk yet.

Now there is news that Mr. Obama tried to sneak a $105 million dollar pay raise into the budget (submitted today) for SEIU members. Is this what he means by transparency?

This writer doesn't believe that Obama is going to wake up and get in touch with the American voters.

Defining Moment

An historic moment of epic proportion could well be underway in Massachusetts today. The Senate seat that has been held by the Democrats for over 40 years is up for grabs in today's special election.

Republican Scott Brown has run on the premise of common sense and letting the people be heard. His campaign and huge following has shown to be a referendum on a national level against President Obama and his policies.

If Brown can pull off this upset in historically liberal Massachusetts, he has promised a negative vote on the final passage of Obamacare.

The defining moment for Democrats, assuming Brown wins, will be the next round of trickery to get the tainted Health Care Bill through without Brown's vote.

My feeling is, Obama is going to do whatever it takes, including delaying the confirmation of Brown to get his proposal signed into law. In addition, our President is willing to ignore the "Will of The People" and move forward with this mess regardless of poll numbers.

So, if Brown pulls this off, stay tuned for another comedic statement from the President as to why this has to be passed. This is all about Obama and nothing else.

The Underwear Bomber

Yesterday President Obama announced that a "Screw Up" in the intelligence community was the driving force behind Christmas Day's near fatal flight to Detroit. I have to agree with our President on that one.

However, I feel the real "Screw Up" is found in the way we are handling the lunatic who carried explosives on board the plane. This wacko is a terrorist and deserves to be treated as such. Why the Attorney General is not trying this guy as an enemy combatant is a real dilemma.

When the Underwear Bomber was apprehended all sources say he was very talkative and making claims of more imminent attacks. A few hours later he is appointed an attorney and is silent. This guy should have been interrogated by our best CIA or FBI people and given zero Miranda Rights. This guy is a cold blooded Non-American, whose purpose was to kill hundreds of innocent Americans in our country.

When are the folks in the White House going to wake-up and realize we are at war with these radical extremists? This was not an "Isolated Incident" as proclaimed by some.
